SAO JOSE DE AREAL: Mateamorod A Boyz edged past United Boyz of Nessai 5-2 via the tie-breaker to move into the semi-finals of the 15th Sao Jose de Areal inter-ward football organized by Holy Cross Association, Mugalli, at Padribhat ground, Sao Jose De Areal, on Wednesday.
In the very fourth minute, Mateamorod A Boyz made an attempt to score through Patxon D’Costa, wherein he dribbled past the defender of United Boys of Nessai, but to his dismay the rival goalkeeper saved his shot by diving.
Haston Dias of United Boyz of Nessai would have found the ball at the back of the net in the 6th minute but his grounder shot hit the rival goalpost and rebound back to play.
It was Redando Vales, who opened the account for Mateamorod A Boyz, in the 10th minute with his left footer.
Change of ends saw United Boyz of Nessai come from behind to level 1-1 in the 48th minute through Valent Fernandes with a rocket shot which crushed into the nylons of Mateamorod A Boyz.
In the ensuing tie-breaker, Mateamorod A Boyz netted through Patxon D’Costa, Joy D’Costa, Redando Vales and Benny Fernandes while United Boyz of Nessai scored through Haston Dias.
