Mormugao were leading 2-0 at the lemon break.
Mormugao United dominated the proceedings from the word go and in the very 7th minute came close in scoring but Shamin Borkar’s left footer hit the goal post and went out of play. Delroy Pereira provided an assist. Again in the 11th minute, Frazier Rogtao provided a cross to Kingslee Fernandes, but the latter’s shot was saved by the Betalbatim goalkeeper.
After increasing their pace, Mormugao United in the13th minute opened the scoring through Shamin’s ground shot which sailed into the net of Betalbatim off an assist by Darsha Ambore. They soon doubled the score when Sachin Borkar’s well composed shot entered straight into the nylon of Betalbatim off an assist by Delroy.
Crossing over, Sporting Club Betalbatim trying to reduce the margin made an attempt with the help of Tavaris Baretto and James Rebello in the 39th minute but the latter’s shot hit the goal post and went out of play.
Thereafter, Betalbatim in the 41st minute were on target when Kingslee provided a cross to Klinsman Pereira, who in return smartly headed the ball into Mormugao goal.
A bit shaken Mormugao upped their pace and scored their third goal in the 56th minute through Erasmo Gama after Sushant Borkar provided a pass.
