CHICALIM: Mormugao Zone defeated Quepem Zone by an innings and 125 runs to register fluent win in the Geno Trophy U-16 league cricket tournament, organised by Geno Sports Club of Mapusa, at SAG Sports Complex ground, Chicalim.
Quepem Zone scored 118 runs in their first innings. Shadab Khan took 5 wickets in 42 runs. In reply Mormugao Zone declared their first innings at 304 for 3 with Arsh Sardesai, Om Fadte and Aniket Sawant registered half centuries. Down by 186 runs in the first innings, Quepem Zone second innings was dismissed in just 61 runs by Shadab Khan who scalped 7 wickets with a match haul of 12 wickets 72 runs.
