Movil hat-trick helps Fr Agnel beat Loyola HS

PILAR: Fr Agnel High School, Pilar overcame Loyola High School, Margao in their group D encounter in the Reliance Foundation Youth Sports School Football – Junior Boys category, at Pilar ground, on Thursday. 
In the end it was Fr Agnel HS’s Movil Almeida who came out on top to power his side to a 3-2 victory over his compatriot Aron Barreto.
The first half saw both teams starting the game cautiously looking to keep things smooth at the back. The two teams tried to restrict  the game in the midfield. Loyola created the better chances of the two sides but failed to capitalize thanks to a stern Fr Agnel HS defence. 
Fr Agnel HS gained control of the match against the run of play in the 24th minute as Movil Almeida scored to give his side the 1-0 lead going into half-time.
 The teams emerged focused in the second half with Fr Agnel HS looking to extend their lead and Loyola High trying to get back in the game. Movil Almeida soon gave his side another reason to smile as he doubled their advantage in the 36thminute. 
Loyola HS would not give up easily and managed to get a goal back through Aron Barreto in the 39th minute. 
With the score at 2-1 in favour of Fr Agnel HS, Loyola HS pushed hard to get the equalizer. They came close with a free kick from 25 yards out but the shot went over the keeper and also over the bar. 
Aron Barreto would match in counterpart in the opposition and managed to score his side’s second goal in the 59th minute to leave the match level with only a minute and stoppage time left to play. 
In the end, it all came down to the day’s star man, Movil Almeida who completed his hattrick in stoppage time and gave his side a crucial win by scoring through a sweet strike past the Loyola keeper.
The dramatic  last minute victory gave Fr Agnel HS a crucial 3 points to move to the top spot in Group D.
