MRF Calangute win 6-a-side hockey

MRF Calangute won the all-Goa 6-a-side hockey tournament organised by Goans Hockey at Fatorda, Margao on Sunday.
In the finals, MRF Calangute got the better of MRF Mapusa 5-2. Teams from Benaulim, Majorda, Gudi, Collem, Margao and Borda participated.
Farrel Furtado, secretary, Goans Hockey, gave away the prizes alongwith Pearl Viegas and Valanka D’Souza, executive committee member. Benny Viegas, organising secretary welcomed and assured the boys that this was only the beginning and Goans Hockey is committed to conduct more tournaments in Goa, for boys as well as girls. Farrel Furtado further stated that Goans Hockey would endeavour to bring back the glorious days of hockey in Goa with plans for many more tournaments, camps, clinics for umpires as well as schemes for equipment and coaching for schools. Dexter Pereira proposed the vote of thanks.
