MRF continues to support GFDC

PANJIM: The Khandepar Football Development Centre of the Goa Football Development Council received a major boost with MRF adopting the centre for the second consecutive year.

PANJIM: The Khandepar Football Development Centre of the Goa Football Development Council received a major boost with MRF adopting the centre for the second consecutive year. With this partnership, MRF continued its commitment with GFDC to develop young footballers in Khandepar. 
Speaking on the occasion, Aleixo Da Costa, Member Secretary of GFDC stated that in earlier days, kids were not benefited with football kits, good ground and coaching facilities but now with such benefits provided by the Government, children should be motivated to train and play every evening on the ground and rise to be become future footballers.
Agnelo Fonseca, GFDC Council member valued MRF’s continuous support and hoped for more fruitful partnership ahead. 
Antony Joseph, General Manager of MRF was pleased to continue supporting GFDC’s Khandepar centre specially seeing young kids doing so well in football and bringing laurels to Khandepar.
He further congratulated GFDC for the great work done at such a young age for the children and promised more support to GFDC in developing football for the kids. Chairman of GFDC, Dr Rufino Monteiro in his address thanked MRF for adopting the centre for the second year running which is a major encouragement towards the corporates’ contribution towards football and the society. 
He further stated that a new lush green ground is almost complete and urged trainees to make the best use of the facility. He also congratulated the coaches, centre manager, children and parents for their support to make Khandepar an ideal centre due to which five boys and two girls have been selected for GFDC’s non-residential academies. Among the dignitaries present were Shantaram Naik, Council Member of GFDC; Dr Roque D’Costa, Chairman, GVM’s’; Govind Mapari and Denny Rodrigues, MRF officials and Anil Gawde PE teacher, MIBK school.
