MAPUSA: Murod Boys got the better of Remedious SC 2-1 to sail into the final of the Friends Circle of Candolim inter-ward Soccer Cup, played at Candoilm ground, on Thursday.
Remedious keeper Melwyn Carvalho effected a classic save in the early minutes of the match when he pushed away Canute DeSouza’s rasping right footer.
In the 24th minute of play Remedious broke the deadlock when Terrence D’Mello set the ball on platter to Felix D’Souza who coolly slotted the ball home, 1-0.
Minutes within crossing over Murod almost levelled terms however, Gautam Shirodkar’s well executed reverse kick banged the Remedious horizontal bar.
Two minutes later Murod found their precious equalizer through Canute De Souza who scored from close range.
After some midfield play Murod managed to take the lead through Karan Bagkar who guided in Canute De Souza’s cross, 2-1.
