PANJIM: WFM Riya Sawant is leading with two points after the end of second round in the National Under-15 girls chess championship being played at Thrissur, Kerala, on Tuesday.
She outplayed Madaliar Nanddini of Gujarat and Harivardhini I of Tamil Nadu.
In the third round, Riya will challenge Saughanthika of Tamil Nadu.
Adithi Parbhugaonkar outsmarted Perli Rashmi of Andhra Pradesh and lost to Akanksha Hagawane of Maharashtra to remain on one point. Aishwarya Thorat is on half point with one draw.
In the open category, Ameya Audi and Naik Rishubh are on 1.5 point each with one win and one draw.
Ritvz Parab, Kambli Datta, Snehal Shetti and Audi Saesh are on one point each. CM Luke Mendonca has not opened an account.
