UTORDA: Navelim Sporting Club beat Sao Jose de Areal 3-1 to sail into final of 27th Lourdes Football Festival tournament, organised by United Club of Utorda, organised in memory of their past president Roque Noronha, played at SAG ground, Utorda, on Thursday.
Travis Sousa put Navelim Sporting ahead in the 8th minute with a powerful strike which hit the crossbar and went in the goal, 1-0. Areal equalised through the boots of Alvito Maura.
At the half hour mark, Danstan Fernandes put Navelim ahead as they led 2-1 at the break.
Sao Jose de Areal dominated the second half through Jeston Fernandes and Navil Fernandes who made several inroads into the rival territory but their efforts went in vain.
Navelim Sporting scored the third goal through Langston Luis in the 65th minute.
