PANJIM: Dempo Sports Club, Sesa Football Academy and FC Goa registered wins in their respective encounters of the Goa Football Association U-16 League First Division played at various venues across the state on Thursday.
At Chowgule ground, FC Goa scored a solitary goal win over Sports Authority of India with Rayan Menezes netting the only goal of the game in the 86th minute.
Meanwhile at Dramapur ground, a 85th minute strike from Topon Mirj enabled Dempo Sports Club to registered a narrow 1-0 win over Salgaocar Football Club.
At Astro turf Fatorda, Sesa FA ran riot over Churchill Brothers FC 6-1.
Aryan Salunke was the highlight of the evening netting a fine hat-trick.
Churchill Bros were first to score the goal at the half hour mark through Sandeep Chaudankar in the 20th minute. However, Sesa FA came back strongly and scored two goals before the breather through Aryan Salunke.
In the 67th minute, SFA increased the lead to 3-1 after Zefferino Colaco scored from outside the box. In the 74th minute, Zeffrino Colaco provided a delightful through ball to Aryan Salunke who dribbled past the opposition defence and scored the goal to complete his hat-trick.
In the 75th minute, Crespo scored from right-wing for SFA after a corner was cleared and was converted into a counter-attack.
SFA put the final nail in the coffin in the 85th minute after the ball went into the back of the net directly from the SFA corner. Churchill keeper Cleron D’Sa stumbled and the ball somehow crossed the line. The referee declared it as an own goal as SFA sailed past Churchill Brothers SC winning 6-1.
At Ambelim ground, in the second division U-16 League, Betalbatim SC beat United Club Telaulim 9-0.
