PANJIM: Goa’s budding squash player Nimrit Pasricha has climbed to rank 5 as per Squash Racket Federation of India (SRFI) in the U-11category in India.
In the last one and half year, the 9-year-old has played about 25 tournaments in several cities such as Chennai, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Jaipur, Chandigarh and has caught up with those in the game ahead thanks to her passion to play while still managing to maintain top grades in her academics.
Nimrit who is the daughter of nutritionist Harpreet Pasricha and Commander Mandeep Pasricha managed a strategic backing under the guidance National level coach Rahman Hubli which enabled her to bag the foueth position in the Otters Club, Mumbai and in HCL Indian Junior Open which was held in Noida. She stood fifth in the Western Slam, Mumbai.
Nimrit along with squash also excels in her studies. “It’s not very easy to keep up the scores so I have to put lot of effort as I tend to miss school for my tournaments.”
“My school and teachers are very cooperative and encouraging,” concluded Nimrit who is a student of Navy Children School.
