Nita FA drub SAG Football Academy, qualify for Indian Women’s League I

MAPUSA:  Nita Football Academy, Odisha, had an easy outing as they trounced SAG Football Academy Gujarat by 8-1 margin in the Indian Women’s League I Division organised by Goa Football Association, held at Duler Stadium, here, on Tuesday.

Nita Football Academy eves went into the breather with three goals cushion. Sikha Malik did most of the damage netting four goals, with Babita Kumari (2) Lalita Boypai, Roshni Tigga adding her name to the scorers list.

Football Academy scored the consolation goal through a 25-yard strike by Guddi Gundiya.

Nita Football Academy with 10 points have qualified for next season of Indian Women’s League I Division.  Earlier, in the morning, Garhwal United FC registered a comfortable 2-0 win over FC Tuem.

Garhwal United dominated the first session and went into the breather with a header scored by unmarked Monisha Singha off a long cross by Shruti Kumari in the 35th minute of play, 1-0.

It was superb defending by FC Tuem’s Alisha Tavares who brought three goal line clearances and FC Tuem’s skipper Laura who excelled in the defence that prevented further damage to Goa team.

FC Tuem had just one good attempt at the rival goal but Garhwal United custodian charged to thwart FC Tuem’s Arpita Pednekar in one to one situation.

On crossing ends, Garhwal United carried on their domination.

After number of close misses by Monisha Singha twice and Sanfida Nongrum, in the 59th minute substitute Thiemlalnei guided Shruti Kumari cross into the goal to make it 2-0.
