MAPUSA: Sreebhumi FC had an easy outing as they trounced SAG Football Academy by 7-0 margin in the Indian Women’s League 2 Division match played at Duler Stadium, here, on Friday.
After Friday’s win, Sreebhumi FC have six points from three matches, while SAG Football Academy are yet to open their account.
Sreebhumi FC eves went into the breather with 4-0 margin. Sonali Soren opened the floodgates scoring in the very 3rd minute with Mousumi Murmu netting her brace. The second goal of Sonali came from the penalty spot.
In the added time, Bandana Roy scored the fourth goal, where her corner slipped from the gloves of SAG Football Academy custodian, and the ball rolled into the net, 4-0.
On crossing ends, when the match was just five minutes old, Sreebhumi FC’s substitute Sujata Mahata dribbled past the defenders and keeper to score, 5-0.
In the very next minute, a 25-yard rasping shot by substitute Tanna Kanti took the score to 6-0.
As the match progressed, SAG Football Academy custodian Prishaa Thakkar, twice denied Sujata Mahata from increasing her lead.
A minute before the end of the regulation time, skipper Mousumi Murmu completed her hat-trick to make it 7-0.
In the morning match, Nita Football Academy, Odisha, came from a goal down to hold FC Tuem to a 1-1 draw. Nita Football Academy were indeed a better side but their players failed to score.
After a barren first session, FC Tuem’s Fatima Braganza came from the bench to put her team ahead.
In the 56th minute, FC Tuem’s medio Laxmi Tamang sent an intelligent through pass to Fatima Braganza, who made no mistake to put the ball into the goal, 1-0.
Nita Football Academy exerted tremendous pressure and finally managed to level terms in the 64th minute through Babita Kumari from FC Tuem’s goalkeeper Ashika Gadekar poor collection, 1-1.
Now, FC Tuem have five points, while Nita Football Academy have four points.
