VARCA: The finals of the the Chelsea Memorial Varca inter-ward football tournament, organised by United Boys of Varca will be played at Varca ground on Sunday between Novangully and Chadvaddo.
Benaulim MLA Churchill Alemao will be the chief guest. The winners will be awarded Rs 30,000 and runners-up will get Rs 20,000 .
Proty Fernandes said this tournament gave the locals had an opportunity to witnes the players of yesteryears and also the village youths had an opportunity to display their talent.
Peter Rodrigues the first National referee of Goa said that this kind of tournaments give the villagers an oportunity to showcase their football skills which help to unearth hidden talent from the villages.
