GUDI-PARODA: Our Lady Mother of the Poor High School, Tilamol defeated St Joseph’s Educational Institute Chandor by a solitary goal to enter in the quarter-finals of the Late Ramnath D. Volvotkar Memorial 2nd All Goa inter school U-17 boys football tournament organized by “Insight” the Society for Sports, Culture, Youth Affairs & Charity of Gudi – Paroda ground, on Wednesday.
Both the teams played attacking game in both the sessions. Davis Fernandes and Shlown Clemente missed easy scoring chances in the first session for St Joseph’s Educational Institute. The goalkeeper of OL Mother of the Poor HS Mickey Dias excelled under the bar by making two acrobatic saves.
After a goalless draw in the first half, the all important goal was scored by Reezvon Fernandes in the fifth minute on a free-kick which beat goalkeeper Crespo Fernandes.
Reezvon Fernandes of OL Mother of Poor HS was adjudged as player-of-the-match.
