AMBULOR-VERNA: Old Mardol Boys registered a solitary goal win over Poriebhatt Boys to enter the quarter-finals of the United Boys of Ambulor’s fourth inter-ward football tournament, at Verna Panchayat ground, on Thursday.
There was no score in the first half. Old Mardol’s Remedious Pereira scored the lone goal of the game with a long-range shot which crashed into the net, 1-0.
Poriebhatt Boys had a great opportunity to get back into the game but they failed to make the best use of the penalty awarded to them late in the game as the player’s effort was off-target.
