PANJIM: Panjim Footballers continued their find form in the GFA Second Division as they trounced FC Neura 2-0 to register their third successive victory in the tournament.
Sneden Rodrigues and Moses D’Sa got on the score sheet for Panjim Footballers.
The game started on a well balanced note as FC Neura and Panjim Footballers launched some promising attack right from the start. Panjim Footballers broke the deadlock in the 14th minute through Sneden as he dribbled past the defenders to place a well directed shot beating the rival keeper.
The second goal came in the 35th minute through Moses D’Sa who again created a good move in the midfield to later finish things off in style. The second half saw a more relaxed Panjim Footballers play off the time. However, either sides came close to scoring one each towards the closing stages but was denied by the wood work and the vigilant keeper. With this win, Panjim Footballers have pocketed nine points from three matches and are surging ahead with confidence.
A jubilant manager of Panjim Footballers Anthony Vaz said, “We have been training well, this was a very important victory for us. FC Neura were a good side. The team is shaping up well and we are looking forward for the upcoming matches.”
