PANJIM: Darshan and Babaji claimed three wickets each as Paramount Sports Club, Vasco defeated Knight Archers by five wickets to clinch the Friendship Cup played at GCA Ground, Sanguem.
Knight Archers won toss and elected to bat first scoring 127/9 in 20 overs. Kaushal Singh (28) and Vrushab Kuncolikar (20) were the top scorers while Darshan and Babaji claimed three wickets each for Paramount Sports Club.
Paramount SC easily reached the target in 18.3 overs with Switesh Vernekar scoring unbeaten 32. Prakash Lamani (31) and Arsh Sardessai (25) were the other scorers. Nikit Naik Dalal claimed 3 wickets for Knight Archers while Shashikant, Krishnakant and Vrushab took 1 wicket each.
Paramount Sports Club’s Darshan was declared man-of-match.
Maruti Sports Club secured the third place by winning against Super Strikers.
Knight Archers’ Kaushal Singh was declared man-of-the-series for his excellent performance with one century and one half century.
A total of six teams namely Paramount Sports Club, Knight Archers, Ponda Strikers, Madgaon Royals, Maruti Sports Club and Super strikers participated in the tournament.
Sudip Faldesai, Amogh Namshiker, Kaushik Fondekar, Shaunit Sawardekar, Nikit Dalal and Raunak Nargundkar were present for prize distribution function.
