RAIA: Pedda Boy’s, Varca, defeated Pedda Boy’s, Benaulim, 8-7, via the tie-breaker and lifted the 16th Sereno Cardozo Memorial Trophy organised by Best Friends of Illeant, Benaulim, at Illeant ground, Benaulim, on Tuesday. Varca missed chances through Catty Rodrigues and Colmon Noronha in the 6th and 12th minutes, respectively.
Marcus, Arif and Sidroy also missed chances to score in the second half.
In the tie-breaker Pedda Boy’s, Varca, proved to be better shooters.
The winners collected Rs 25000 and runners-up collected Rs 20000 plus trophies.
Vencilla Fernandes panch of village panchayat Cana-Benaulim was the chief guest and gave away the prizes to the winners and runners-up in the presence of Juliana Fernandes, Rosario Fernandes, Anthony Fernandes Jackson and other dignitaries
