CANACONA: Polem Cricket Club defeated Rudreshwer Panjim by 17 runs in the 44th Nanda Lolayekar Trophy organised by Mashem Cricket Club at Nirakar Maidan Dapot, here.
Polem Cricket Club won the toss and elected to bat first, scoring 244/9 in 35 overs. Vedant Pisat 50 (53) and Nihal Surlakar 34 (30) were the top scorers. Anand Majalikar 2/43, Manish Kakode 2/48 and Sushant Chimilkar 1/21 did the most damage to the rival batting line-up.
In their reply, Rudreshwer Panjim managed to score 227/10 in 34.2 overs. Nityay Kunkolienkar 90 (81), Sanket Mandrekar 48 (32) and Annish Kakode 40 (45) performed well. Rajat Pagi 4/32, Ashish 3/38, Nihal Surlakar 1/41 and Udit Yadav 1/40 were the wicket takers for Polem Cricket Club.Man-of-the-match was awarded to Rajat Pagi.
Earlier, Bannerman Margao defeated Maratha Warriors by three wickets.
Bannerman Margao won the toss and elected to field first. Maratha Warriors batting first scored 138/10 in 28.3 overs. Dishant Karekar 25 (57), Saiesh Desai 23 (23), Vardhan Misquin 22 (18) performed well. Viraj Puranik 3/27, Govind Gaonkar 3/44 and Om Fadte 2/31did their best to curtail opponents from score more runs.
In their reply, Bannerman Margao scored 142/7 in 27 overs. Rushab Naik 48 (46), Viraj Puranik 23 (28) and Swabhimaan Singh 20 (16) were the top scorers. Saiesh Desai 3/29 2 and Sachin Kurpaskar 2/31 were the wicket takers. Man-of-the-match was awarded to Viraj Puranik.
