Purushottam Walwalkar HSS emerge victorious

PANJIM: Purushottam Walwalkar HSS, Mapusa thrashed Government HSS, Pernem by 104 runs to emerge North Zone champs in the inter-higher secondary cricket tournament, organised by Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs, played at Peddem ground, on Tuesday.

PANJIM: Purushottam Walwalkar HSS, Mapusa  thrashed Government HSS, Pernem by 104 runs to emerge North Zone champs in the inter-higher secondary cricket tournament, organised by Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs, played at Peddem ground, on Tuesday. 
Electing to bat first, Walwalkar put up a huge score of 184 for 2 in 20 overs with Yash Parab (81) and Ketan Nandrekar (47) playing  fine knocks.
Yash’s 81-run knock was laced with four boundaries and four sixes while Ketan hit three boundaries and a six.
Rajesh Hani Kutty made a quick fire 27 of just 8 balls.
Jayesh and Manguesh picked one wicket each for Govt HSS.
In reply, Pernem were all out for 80 runs. Tushar (10) and Jayesh (18) were the only notable contributors to the total. For Walwalkar, Shubham Tari picked three wickets while Amrut scalped two. Yash Parab and Balpreet accounted for one each. 
Walwakar will now play the district final on February 2.
