MAPUSA: PVC Parra registered a comfortable 2-0 win over Merces Football Club to enter the final of the Late Pramodini Dattaram Palyekar Cup, organized by Football Club of Siolim, played at Siolim ground, on Thursday.
It was PVC Parra side that dominated and finally surged ahead in the 27th minute of the first session, as Waldren Martins getting hold to a pass just above the center, dribbled past host of Merces players and on entering the penalty box, slotted it to the far corner of the goal, 1-0.
On resumption of play, Merces FC lost a glorious chance to level terms through Newton Azavedo, where his efforts from close was brilliantly saved by Parra keeper.
In the 55th minute of play Rowel Pinto scored the insurance goal to put his team into the finals after getting past two Merces FC defenders.
