MARGAO: Parish Youth, Nuvem coasted a 2-0 victory over Wilred Leisure Sports Club to march into the semi-finals of All-Goa 38th Cana Benaulim Cup inter-village football tournament organized by Cana Benaulim Sporting Association, at St John the Baptist ground, Dando-Benaulim, on Monday. There was no score at the lemon break.
Nuvem held the upper hand in both the sessions. At the other end, Wilred Leisure were struggling to catch the brisk pace of their rivals and were confined to the midfield.
Nuvem had a couple of scoring chances but their forwards frittered away sitters.
Crossing over, Nuvem were a transformed side and raided the rival goal with their forwards unleashing rasping shots.
The deadlock was broken when Jose Colaco’s well-executed free-kick eluded the rival goalkeeper and the human wall, 1-0.
Presley Colaco then scored the second goal after slotting past the rival goalkeeper Cedric Peixoto off a well executed pass by Inacio Afonso.
