NAVELIM: Quepem Veterans moved into the final of Goa Veterans Football tournament after defeating Mormugao Veterans 2-0 in the second semi-finals, at Rosary Church ground, Navelim, on Saturday.
Quepem started on a bright note as they shot into the lead in the 15 minute when a first time pass from Rosario Carvalho was connected by Artur Mascarenhas for the opening goal.
In the second half, Mormugao came out all guns blazing.
In the 40th minute, Alvito D’ Cunha made the issue safe when after collecting the ball from Teofilio Dias who took a first time shot from some 35 yards giving no chance to the Mormugao goalkeeper to make it 2-0 for Quepem.
Quepem Veterans will now play Ilhas zone in the final.
