PANJIM: Guirim Youth and Cultural Club recorded a fluent 2-0 win over Adarsh Yuvak Sangh in the Goa Football Association Third Division League played at Poriat ground, on Saturday.
There was hardly any action in the first 45 minutes as both goals were scored in the second session.
Rajat Chodankar put Guirim ahead in the 54th minute while three minutes later, Maristan scored the team’s second goal.
In another match at Assonora ground, Sirsaim SWC and Kelbai Sports Club were tied 1-1 at full time.
Melchoir De Souza scored a 90+2nd minute goal to level for Sirsaim SWC to deny the opponents full points. Earlier, Gaurav Gosavi had give Kelbai a 13th minute lead.
At Artificial Turf ground, Arlem Youth Association won a thrilling 3-2 encounter against Shiroda Youth Club.
Jolitan Dias scored a brace for the winning team while Patrick Souza netted the third.
For Shiroda, A Fernandes and Jubin Colaco scored to make it 2-3.
At Mandopa ground, Margao Sports Club defeated Navelim Sporting Club 4-1. Sandroy Vaz, Ashley Andrade, Jonathan Menezes and Sherwin Noronha scored a goal each for the winning team while Rezon K netted for the losing team. Myron Gomes of Navelim and Collin of Margao were sent of receiving double bookings.
GFA U-16 League
Wilred Leisure and SCC Loutolim played out a 1-1 draw in the GFA U-16 Second Division League, at Ambelim ground, on Saturday.
SCC Loutolim led 1-0 at the breather through Melroy Fernandes’ strike. In the second half, Sem Fernandes scored the leveller for Wilred Leisure.
