RAIA: The Government College of Quepem secured the first place in team championship in the 2nd Oscar Memorial Run Cross Country inter-collegiate race conducted by Cuncolim Educational Society along with CES College of Arts and Commerce in memory of late Oscar Gracias, former headmaster of Cuncolim United High School, Cuncolim, recently.
Shree Mallikarjun and Shri Chetan Manju Dessai College of Cancona secured the second place while CES College bagged the third place. The distance of the race was 5.2km, with six teams of five runners each participating.

In the individual category, Santosh Ramu Yedge of Goa Multi Faculty College bagged the first place with time of 18.08 seconds while Suraj Velip and Milfort Pexiote secured the second and third place respectively.
In team championship, the first place winners took home a cash prize of Rs 7,000 with a rolling trophy. For second and third place, a cash prize of Rs 5,000 with trophy and Rs 3,000 plus trophy was awarded respectively.
In individual category, a cash prize of Rs 1,500, Rs 1,000 and Rs 900 were awarded to first three runners. MLA Subhash Phal Dessai graced the occasion as the chief guest and distributed prizes.
