NAVELIM: Raia SC defeated Navelim SC 4-3 via the tie-breaker to move into the quarter-finals of the Gold Silver football trophy organised by Navelim Sporting Club, at Rosary ground, Navelim on Tuesday.
Allwyn Dias should have scored for Raia but Aulon Gomes of Navelim tackled his move in the 8th minute.
In the 14th minute Navelim’s Clinton Gomes’ move was foiled by Jovito Pango of Raia.
At full-time the scores were 0-0.
In the ensuing tie-breaker Raia SC netted through Allywn Dias, Melson Gaunkar, Francis Vaz and Jovito Pango while Clinton Niasso, Aulon Gomes and Joseph Sequeira netted for Navelim SC.
Earlier, Don Bosco Oratory, Fatorda edged past Rossman Cruz Nagoa Verna 5-4 via the tie-breaker to move into the semi finals of the tournament.
