PANJIM: Raia Sporting Club registered a resounding 6-1 win over United Club of Orlim in the GFA Third Division League Salcete Zone play offs, played at Ambelim ground, on Monday.
Sheehan Fernandes opened the scoring in the 20th minute before he doubled the account in the 35th minute. Llyod Cardozo made it 3-0 just before the half time whistle.
Crossing over United Club of Orlim came back strongly and even managed to pull a goal back through Francis Akkara in the 53rd minutes. Raia Sporting Club scored their fourth through Dolrich Simoes before Vaibhav Naik smashed in two goals in two minutes to take the final goal tally to 6-1.
Meanwhile at Dramapur ground, St Sebastiao Youth Club won seven-goal thriller following their 4-3 win over Dicarpale Sports Club.
St Sebastiao led 2-1 at the break as Christopher Borges and Frazer Miranda scored a goal each after Alory Moniz had scored first for Dicarpale. Crossing over Alory levelled terms but Christopher handed St Sebastiao the lead once again in the 57th minute.
Dicarpale equalised once again through Alroy in the 61st minute but Christopher wasn’t ready to give up as he toiled hard upfront to give his side the lead once again within four minutes which turned out to be the match-winner.
