Well, everything is going right for RCB captain Rajat Patidar, but recently, the current skipper of Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) revealed that he was both “sad” and “angry” when the franchise ignored him in the IPL 2022 mega auction, despite prior assurances that he would be picked. He had received a message before the auction indicating that he should be ready and that the team would select him, which gave him hope. However, when he was not picked, it was a major disappointment.
Later, Patidar was called back as a replacement player for the injured Luvnith Sisodia. Even then, he was reluctant to join as a replacement because he felt he would not get many opportunities to play and did not want to just sit on the bench. Initially, he started playing local matches in Indore after being left out of the auction. He also mentioned that, after going unsold, he had even planned his wedding date, thinking he would not be playing that season.

Despite the tough start, Patidar made a significant impact for RCB, including a match-winning unbeaten century in the 2022 Eliminator. Since then, he has become a key player and was appointed captain in 2025.
For RCB, everything is going well as the team has won 8 matches, lost 3, holds a net run rate (NRR) of +0.482, and sits second on the points table with a total of 16 points.
