DEUSSUA-CHINCHINIM: Rosary High School, Navelim downed Assumpta Convent High School, Sarzora 5-2 via the tie-breaker to move into the quarter-finals of the St JosephVaz Soccer Cup, organised by Mount Mary’s Educational Complex, Chinchinim, at Our Lady of Hope Church ground, Chinchinim, on Wednesday.
Assumpta opened the score-line through Ajwal Fernandes in the fourth minute. Three minutes later, Adarsh Raj equalised for Rosary.
In the tie-breaker, Rosary HS, Navelim netted through Jabiullah, Adarsh, Noah and Nathan while only Azwal Fernandes scored for Assumpta Convent High School, Sarzora.
In another match, Mount Mary’s High School, Chinchinim shot-out St Jude High School, Betalbatim 5-3 via the tie-breaker to move into the quarter-finals.
Larsen Rebello netted the first goal for Mount Mary in the seventh minute but the joy was short-lived as Sandeep Chawdhard equalised for St Jude in the 17th minute.
In the tie-breaker, Mount Mary’s HS, Chinchinim netted through Deepak, Sidroy, Sharui and Adriano while Joelan and Akshay scored for St Jude HS, Betalbatim.
