Progress HS, Sanquelim, Bicholim defeated St Joseph’s HS, Pernem 5-1 in the first round of North District boys U-17 football organised by DSYA at Peddem sports complex on Monday. Sanquelim led 2-1 at half time.
Alwyn Cardozo netted a brace, while Jason Vaz, Ganesh Kapoor and Faisal Depari also scored for Sanquelim. Shubam Chinthdroji punted in a consolation goal for St Joseph’s.
Ideal English HS, Palkyel, Pernem triumphed over Shivaji Raj HS, Kholpe, Sal Bicholim in U-17 North District boys kho kho finals.
In the girls finals, Ideal English defeated Government HS, Surla, Bicholim.
Don Bosco HS, Panjim defeated St Clara’s HS, Assnora in boys U-17 handball North District finals.
In the girls finals, Our Lady of Rosary HS, Dona Paula overcame St Clara’s HS, Assnora.
St Andrew’s HS, Goa Velha were victorious in boys U-17 volleyball North District finals, defeating Lourdes Convent HS, Saligao.
In the girls volleyball finals, St Thomas girls HS, Aldona beat St Theresa HS, Candolim.
The first place teams will now go for the All-Goa finals, while the runners-up will battle against the South runners-up for the third place.
