AGENICES, SINGAPORE: Goa’s Russell Lobo won silver in the RS: One Youth category (Asian Games Class) while Keona Rajani won bronze in the Techno 293 One Design class (Youth Olympic Class) at the 38th Singapore Open Windsurfing Championship, recently.
The regatta was held in the Malacca Straits, off the pristine East Coast Park (ECP) of Singapore.
The duo who are a part of Goa Yachting Association trained briefly under the guidance and supervision of highly experienced coach and mentor, Derrick Menezes.
Strong gusty wind conditions prevailed throughout the championships which were challenging for the Goan Windsurfers as they are not used to such wind conditions in Goa. Such international exposures will go a long way in preparing our sailors to excel at all levels.
