VASCO: Salgaocar FC emerged winners of the South Goa GFA U-14 League following their 2-0 win over CAC Cansaulim at the Dr T. B. Cunha-SAG ground Cansaulim.
The winners scored in either half of the play.
Salgaocar took the lead in the sixth minute through their star striker Salvador Gama, who capitalised when the rival keeper fumbled to cleanly collect a Hayden Fernandes’ free-kick. Thereafter, Salgaocar tried their best to increase the margin through Shinde and Michael but some good defending by Jerico kept them at bay.
In the second half, Cansaulim came up with some good moves through Shane, Om and Judah but Salgaocar keeper Akash was unbeatable.
Salgaocar made it 2-0 in 63rd minute through a goalmouth melee goal by Mazaltov Rodrigues.
Salgaocar FC will now clash with North Goa Champions Dempo Sports Club in the final on May 23 at Cansaulim.
