VASCO: Experience prevailed over youth as seasoned campaigners Saligao United scored a comfortable 2-0 victory over Cuncolim Union to enter the quarter-finals of 40th All-Goa HQ-NRB Bandodkar memorial inter-village football tournament at MPT ground, Baina, here, Thursday. Both the goals came in the first half.
Saligao took the lead in the 10th minute when Edwin Fernandes scored off a pass from Nestor Dias. Man-of-the-match Martin Fernandes doubled the lead towards the end of the first half with a delightful finish.

Despite being down by an early goal, the youthful Cuncolim team did show a lot of promise but the second goal dampened their spirits. The second half saw the Saligao team just playing out the session having secured a comfortable lead.
