Saligao Sporting Club got the better of PVC Parra 5-2 via the tie-breaker after the teams were involved in a 1-all draw to move into the quarter-finals of 17th Nerul Panchayat Cup inter-village football tournament organised by Nerul Sports Club at Nerul ground on Thursday.
Saligao forged ahead through a free kick by Nazi Shaikh while Parra restored parity in the second half through Brijesh Shirodker off a penalty.
With the scores even, the tie-breaker was resorted to decide the winners. Saligao prevailed over PVC Parra by 4-1. Joseph Monteiro, Narendra Kumar, Nazi Shaikh and Anil Naik scored for Saligao while only Jerry D’Souza could convert for Parra.
