PANJIM: Santesh Mapsekar will meet Anshuman Agarwal in the Junior Boys final of the 2nd Filip Pinto Memorial Table Tennis Major Ranking Tournament organised by Kabir Pinto Makhija in association with Clube Vasco da Gama, on Saturday.
In the quarter-finals Anshuman beat Aadvik Panandikar 3 – 0 (11-3,11-7,11-5). He then edged past Nagesh Verenkar 3 – 2 (12-10,9-11,6-11,13-11,11-5) in the semi-finals.
Santesh blanked Aarav Aiyar 3 – 0 (11-9,11-5,11-4) in the quarter-finals who then beat Aaron Colaso 3 – 1 (9-11,11-4,11-9,11-2) in the semi-finals.
Meanwhile on Friday, Prutha Parrikar blanked Aditi Chodankar 3 – 0 (11-7,11-9,11-8) to setup a final clash with Sneha Rane who beat Sneha Mesta 3 – 0 (11-6,11-8,13-11) in the junior girls category.
In the sub-junior boys category, Nagesh Verenkar beat Jayz Gomes 3 – 0 (12-10,11-3,11-8) while Anshuman Agarwal edged out Santesh Mapsekar 3 – 2 (8-11,11-6,11-5,3-11,11-9) who face each other in the final.
In the sub-junior girls category, Sanisha Shetye beat Sneha Rane 3 – 2 (8-11,12-10,5-11,12-10,11-5) who will now face Najida Sheikh in the final after she blanked Sneha Mesta 3 – 0 (11-5,11-8,11-7.)
