CALANGUTE: Clube Sao Minguel de Taleigao prevailed over Candolim Sports Club 6-5 via the tie-breaker in the inaugural match of all-Goa inter-village Nerul Soccer 2013, organised by Nerul Sports Club, at Nerul ground, Sunday.

CALANGUTE: Clube Sao Minguel de Taleigao prevailed over Candolim Sports Club 6-5 via the tie-breaker in the inaugural match of all-Goa inter-village Nerul Soccer 2013, organised by Nerul Sports Club, at Nerul ground, Sunday.
Candolim got off to a perfect start and scored in the10th minute through Duarte Fernandes.  Trailing by a goal, Taleigao had a golden opportunity to draw level but Cedric Peixeto failed to convert a penalty.  
Changing over, Taleigao drew level in the 40th minute through Vincy Falcao.
The winners were decided on penalties.  Taleigao kept their nerves to get better of Candolim by 5-4 margin.  Cedric Peixeto, Vardhan Haldankar, Ramesh Palkar, Rakesh Chari and Savio Mirando converted for Taleigao while Duarte Fernandes, Sagar Bhatkarnde, Sarvesh Kanekar and Marshal Simoes found the mark for Candolim.
Earlier, the tournament was kicked off by Subhash Naik, social worker in presence of village panchayat members of Nerul Narcis Almeida, Piedade Almeida, Mahesh Revodkar, Shashikala Govekar and Francis D’Souza.
