MARGAO: Saviour of the World HS, Loutolim scored a thumping 9-1 win over Bloomz International School in the opening match on the final day of the league stage of the 3rd Chowgule Sports Centre U-10 Futsal League organised by YFA and co-powered by Capitao Security Services and The King’s School, at Chowgule Sports Centre, on Tuesday.
Jaden Dias scored five for the winners while Ashwin Miranda got himself a hat-trick and Sanyo Fernandes scored one.
Elroy D’Silva scored a consolation Bloomz. Caden Gonsalves was the man-of-the-match.
Infant Jesus HS Colva beat Vidya Vikas Academy by 6-2. Rishikesh Madiwal scored a hat-trick while Rahul Sherpali scored a brace and Shenoy Fernandes scored one.
The highlight of the match was Warren Rodrigues’ brace as both his goals were scored after dribbling past a host of Infant Jesus defenders before sliding the ball past the on rushing keeper.
Perpetual Succour Convent HS, Navelim topped group A with a comfortable 3-1 victory against St Jude’s HS, Betalbatim who also made it to the quarter-finals despite the loss. Man-of-the-match Alan Rodrigues, Musab Shaikh and Emmanuel Gama scored one each for the winners while Milwerd scored the lone goal for St Jude’s HS.
Loyola HS, Margao leaped frogged Manovikas EMS into top spot in group B after a hard fought 3-2 win in the table top clash. Reuben Barbosa scored a brace for the winners while Lochlan and Yohann Sousa scored a goal each for Manovikas. Irwin Faleiro scored from the spot to give Manovikas victory. Andreas Furtado was named the man-of-the-match.
Futebol Club YFA booked their place in the quarter-finals with a fluent 5-1 victory over Regina Marytrum HS, Assolna. Soham Mane scored a hat-trick for the winners while Ved Rajput and Zane Reveredo scored a goal each. Casper Cardozo scored one for Regina.
Aaryav Da Costa was adjudged the man-of-the-match.
Rosary Navelim scored a big 7-3 win against The Kings School in the last match of the league stage. Man-of-the-match Messi scored four for the winners and Sweedon Costa and Sanjay Yadav scored one each. Mark D’Costa and Trond Dias scored for TKS.
The quarter-finals will be played on October 5 at Chowgule Futsal court. Perpetual will face The Kings School at 8.30 a.m. followed by Loyola HS v. St. Jude’s HS, at 9.15 a.m.; Futebol Club YFA will meet Rosary HS at 10 a.m. and Manovikas EMS will face Saviour of the World, Loutolim in the last quarter-finals.
