PERNEM: After a long wait, the Sawalwada Indoor Sports Complex, Pernem will be finally inaugurated by Sports Minister Manohar Ajgaonkar on September 30.
Sports Minister Manohar Ajgaonkar inspected the ongoing work of Sawalwada Indoor Sports Complex and assured to inaugurate the complex on September 30.
“I have directed the contractor to complete the project and handover the same to sports department before the end of September. Chief Minister has instructed to complete the project as soon as possible and I have given one month time to complete the pending works and on September 30, the sports department will inaugurate the project”, Sport Minister Manohar Ajgaonkar said.
Around 90 percent of project work is completed and 10 percent of the pending work will be undertaken in the next one month. The project, worth Rs 36 cr, will be the pride of Pernem taluka where National games will be hosted. Not only games but entertainment functions can also be held here once the project is inaugurated,” explained Ajgaonkar. “We are ready to host the National games since all our infrastructures are ready with best of the facilities to host the 32 games,” added Ajgaonkar.
