PANJIM: Goa’s Shriya Patil continued her winning run as she beat Trisha Jagtap in Round 10 of the 31st Under 7 Girls National Chess Championship 2017, organised by Andhra Pradesh Chess Association, at Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, on Monday.
Patil now moved on to the seventh position with 7.5 points. Meanwhile, her other colleagues had a difficult day out as they stumbled in their round matches. Naik Drishti lost to Avishi Gupta to stay on five points.
Ikra Sarfaraz, who pulled off a surprise win the round nine, went down fighting to Saanvi Sharma. Raikar Rivia R lost to Hridika Das. Rivia is on 4.5 points.
Goa’s Atharva Sawal suffered a major blow as he was beaten by Sarthak Anand Devadiga in the round 10 match, which leaves him on six points.
While, Prabhu Varad amd Pratnesh Malvankar lost their respective matches too, Dharmaditya Sandeep was the only Goan to pocket ½ point from round 10 as he drew against
Sreehas Raparla. Sandeep now moves on to 4 points.
