PANJIM: Candolim Sport Club registered a 2-1 win over Goa Velha Sports Club in the U-16 league organised by Goa Football Association, at Candolim ground, on Wednesday.
Lokendra Thapa scored first for Goa Velha Sport Club in the 45th minute. Candolim Sport Club rallied as they netted in two goals through Rihan Khan in the 67th and 80th minute of the game to snatch away a win from Goa Velha SC.
In another match held at Ambelim ground, Betalbatim Sports Club got the better of Ambelim Sports Club 2-1.
Nash Diniz scored for the Ambelim Club in the 33rdminute while Betalbatim Sports Club scored two quick goals through Neston Fernandes in the 40th minute and Suel Khan in the 40+2 minute.
At Parra ground, Sporting Club de Goa defeated PVC Parra by a similar margin 2-1. Shanon Veigas (52nd minute) and Prabhat Singh (60th minute) scored for the flaming oranje while Shivraj Savant (77th minute) scored for the Parra team.
At Betalbatim ground, Ave Maria AWC registered a 3-2 win over A.A de Majorda. Roshan Dessai (12th minute), Chyoson Rodrigues (32nd minute) and Mathew Fernandes (66th minute) scored for the winning team while Valen Fernandes’s brace (34th and 59th minute) was not enough to save his team.
