Sporting Clube de Goa, Salgaocar FC prevail

PANJIM: Sporting Clube de Goa registered their first win of their campaign with a thumping 5-1 victory over SAI Training Centre at Don Bosco Oratory, Panjim, on Sunday.
Sporting Clube opened their scoring in the seventh minute through Francisco and doubled the account in the 14th minute through Atmaram Jadhav.
It was one-way traffic as Sporting Clube dominated the match and scored their third in the 25th minute through Sahil Gaonkar.
At the half hour mark, Francisco Fernandes netted his second to take the tally to 4-0.
SAI pulled a goal back just before the breather through Siddarth Daddikar.
In the second half there wasn’t much action as it was in the first, however Francisco Fernandes scored his hat-trick netting another goal in the 72nd minute to take the final tally to 5-1.
Meanwhile at Rosary ground, Navelim, Salgaocar Football Club registered a 3-2 win over  Sesa Football Academy.
Sesa FA lead 1-0 at the breather after Izaz Khan gave them a ninth minute lead.
However, in the second half, Salgaocar FC went all guns blazing and scored three quick goals through a Sidney Gaunkar double and a Fredson Gomes 81st minute strike.
Sesa FA managed to score another goal through I Singh.
In a late evening match played under floodlights at Chowgule ground, FC Goa ran riot over Churchill Brothers with a 5-0 win.
Reyes Cruz and Salgeo Dias scored a brace apiece while Davis Fernandes scored the fifth for the winners.
In the GFA U-16 Second Division League, Betalbatim Sporting Club defeated Ave Maria AWC 4-1 at Artificial Turf, Fatorda.
Betalbatim had four different scorers as Cadweel Braganza, Reagen Soares, Christ Rebello and Selwin Soares scored for the winners while Aman pulled a goal back for the losing side.
