PANJIM: St. Anne’s Institute, Agonda blanked St. Tereza of Jesus High School, Chaudi, 3-0 to win the Mandovi Parivar Rolling trophy inter-school football tournament.
Pratik Pagi netted the first goal for St. Anne’s in the 25th minute of the match. In the second half, Floy Fernandes doubled the lead in the 37th minute. Floy scored the third goal by beating the goal keeper with a header.
In the third place match, Govt. High School, Sadolshem defeated St. Anthony High School, Galgibag 3-0. Shubham Velip scored two goals in the second half in the 32nd and 35th minute. Rohit Naik scored a goal in the 58th minute.
The following are the Individual prizes: best Goalkeeper of the tournament: Dickson Fernandes (St. Anne’s Institute), best defender of the tournament: Mascar Fernandes (St Tereza HS), best striker of the tournament and man-of-the-final: Floy Fernandes (St. Anne’s Institute).
Ajay Lolayekar, Sarpanch of Loliem Polem was the chief guest and gave away the prizes to the winners and runners-up in the presence of Jessica Cort, Deputy Sarpanch, Alelua Pereira, Headmaster, St Teresa of Jesus HS and other dignitaries.
