St Anthony’s SC down Guirdolim
PANJIM: St Anthony’s Sports Club Assolda recorded a fluent 3-0 win over Guirdolim Club in the Goa Football Association Second Division League Salcete Zone at Dramapur ground, on Friday.
The teams started on equal footings wherein the ball was mostly restricted to midfield duel for the opening quarter. In the 38th minute, St Anthony’s SC finally broke the deadlock through Louie Noronha.
St Anthony’s SC doubled the account through Kanchan Kiro. Guirdolim’s hopes of a comeback were dented by Louie Noronha in the 63rd minute who completed his brace and netted Assolda’s third.
Meanwhile at Astro Turf, Fatorda, Varca Sports Club defeated Nuvem Sports Club 2-0.
Varca SC took the lead at the half hour mark through a Nigel Coutinho’s own goal.
Soon in the next minute Varca SC doubled the tally through Aaron Rodrigues to make it 2-0 and seal full points.
