MAPUSA: St Anthony’s SC, Marna, managed to edge past Goa Velha SC, by 3-2 margin in the GFA’s First Division League- North Zone, held at Guirim ground, here, on Friday.
Both the teams came into the match with a victory in their last league match. But it was Marna colts that went into the breather with two goals cushion, with Alesh Sawant and Ramnath Dabolkar scoring the goals.
On crossing over Goa Velha came back strongly into the match and saw Franky Oliveira pump in two quick goals in the 67th and 70th minute to level terms, 2-2.
However when it looked the teams were heading for a draw, Rakesh Samal scored in the 89th minute to give full points for Marna colts, 3-2.
