Kerala youth held with drugs worth Rs 25 lakh

PANJIM: The Anti Narcotics Cell (ANC) of Goa Police arrested two persons hailing from Kerala for allegedly possessing illegal drugs worth Rs 25 lakh.

According to the police, the accused have been identified as Mohd Basi Mecheri (26) and Murshid Mustafa Kulangara (24), both natives of Calicut, Kerala, and presently staying at Arambol. Police said the arrest was made after a raid was conducted at Arambol during which 250 high quality triple dip LSD blots were found in the possession of the accused.

The LSD blots seized are three times stronger, effective and much more dangerous, police said. The police suspect an interstate network in the racket as the accused had come to Goa for distribution of the contraband into the party circuit. This is the second raid in a span of a week by ANC. Last week, the ANC had arrested a Nigerian national with narcotics worth Rs 75 lakh.

The raid was  led by PSI Sunil Falkar. He was assisted by Head Constable Umesh Dessai, constables Nitesh Mulgaonkar, Laxman Mhamal, Sandesh Volvoikar, Sumit Mutkekar and drivr Kundan Patekar under. The raid was conducted under the supervision of ANC PI Sajith Pillai under the leadership of DySP (ANC) Nerlon Albuquerque and SP (ANC) Bossuet Silva. The case is being investigated by PSI Dindayal Redkar.
