QUITULA: St. Anthony’s SC Marna had a thumping 6-1 win over Siolim Sodiem SCC in the Second Division League organized by Goa Football Association held at Quitula ground on Saturday.
The game saw five different goal scorers for the winning team. Both teams started the game on equal fronts as they cancelled out each other’s opportunities. It took St. Anthony’s SC 42 minutes to find the opening goal as they scored through Siddhant Shirodkar’s fine shot in the nets which was the main difference at the half time.
Post resumption, St. Anthony’s added another through Claudio Rodrigues in the 48th minute. But Siolim side pulled one down through Akash Benaulikar in the 53rd minute.
But this didn’t stop the opposition as they went on to add there quick goals through Loyed Mascarenhas, Pushparaj Mandrekar and Sauyam Pednekar in the 70th, 72nd and 74th minute respectively.
Claudio Rodrigues went on to add further damage onto the opposition team as he completed his brace in the 89th minute as they completely stamped their authority onto the Siolim side.
Meanwhile in the U-20 TACA league game, SCC Cavelossim had a narrow 3-2 win over Football Club de Bardez, at Artificial Turf Fatorda.
Darren Estebeiro’s brace along with a goal from Ralph Fernandes helped SCC take away all points while Joliston Rebello and Royston Coutinho scored for the Bardez side.
Elsewhere, in the Third Division League (Ilhas Zone) Albert Developer’s edged past Aivao United 1-0, at Agassaim ground.
Alber Developers netted the only goal of the match through Haresh Jalmi in the 36th minute.
