CHAPORA: St Anthony’s SC, Marna struggled before scrapping past Sangolda Lightning 2-1 to move into the next round of the Anjuna Caisua Village Panchayat Cup, organized by Chapora Sports Club, at Chapora ground, on Tuesday.
Sangolda Lightning broke the deadlock in the 25th minute of play when Lawry Rodrigues’s
blistering right footer crashed into the St Anthony SC’s nets after brushing past the hands of the keeper.
St Anthony SC did not wait for long and netted the equalizer within two minutes through Acheraj Fernandes.
Later, Joel Fernandes scored the match winning goal for St Anthony SC through a curling 25-yard shot with had no answer from the rival keeper.
