PANJIM: St.Caitan, Merces advanced into the pre-quarters of the London Cup football tournament organised by Siridao Boys at River Plate Siridao Sports Club ground, Siridao by defeating S.F.X. Borim by 3-1 goals.
In an exiting first half SFX Borim dominated the match with 80 percent ball possession. They found the nets to lead the match through a powerful shot by Anthony in the 8th minute of play.
With the match in favour of Borim, St Caitan sturck in the 22nd minute netting the equalizer though Govind.
In the second half the match ws played on a fast pace, but goalkeepers of both teams stood their ground and prevented any damage to their citadel.
St.Caitan, Merces, began to mount pressure which paid dividends with first Yuri sending in the ball for a 2-1 lead and later in the 30th minute of the second half Yuri found the target once again to round of the score 3-1 to round of the tally and place his team into the pre-quarter-finals.
