SERAULIM: St Joseph’s Parish Youth, Dramapur, emerged champions in the 6th All Goa Inter-Parish Seraulim Youth Cup organised by Seraulim Parish Youth and played at the church ground.
In the final, St Joseph Parish Youth Dramapur beat St Thomas Parish Youth, Cansaulim, 3-2 in the tiebreaker after both teams drew goalless.
In the semifinals, St Joseph Parish Youth, Dramapur, beat St Rita Parish Youth, Maina, Curtorim, while St Thomas Parish Youth, Cansaulim, got the better of Fatorda Parish Youth.
In all, 50 parish teams from all over Goa took part in the tournament. The winners, St Joseph Parish Youth, Dramapur, were awarded Rs 12, 000 while the runners-up St Thomas Youth Cansaulim collected Rs 10,000.
In the girls tournament, Our Lady of Patrocino Chapel Youth Benaulim won the soccer tiebreaker tournament defeating St Thomas Parish Youth Cansaulim, 2-1. Forty teams participated in the girls tiebreaker tournament. The winners pocketed Rs. 5,000 whilst the runners up St Thomas PY, Cansaulim, had to be content with Rs 3,000.
Fr Benjamin Parish Priest of Seraulim was the chief guest and Sister Fransquinha, Youth Coordinator, was the guest of honour and gave away the prizes.
